Description

Dump cans are used in motorsports when quick fuel filling pit stops are essential. The main difference between a "dump can" and a common "fuel jug" is the vent architecture. For quick filling, air entering the can must replace the exiting fuel at the same rate. If not, a vacuum will create a flow restriction and produce a "gurgle" or "chug" effect. Fortunately, the large 1.675" OD vent tube comes from the bottom minimizing refueling leaks. The vent tube is also typically used for filling the dump can. Radium Engineering dump cans are blow-molded in USA from high density polyethylene which is safe for all fuel types (leaded gas, unleaded gas, diesel, AV gas, methanol, ethanol, E15, E85, etc.). The external rectangular shape allows for easy storing and securing. The integrated vent handle is comfortable and ergonomic making refueling painless. An anodized billet aluminum cap with a rubber flip vent valve is standard with all dump cans. The dump can comes preassembled with a sealing cap for the molded 1" NPT male spout. If cut, the pour spout can be enlarged from 1.25" to 2.25" to 3" OD. For more spout info and options, see specifications. NOTE: To utilize all 8 gallons, it is recommended to use the preassembled standard rubber flip vent valve. This will drastically slow the filling process but prevent any fuel from accidentally making its way out of the vent when the dump can is completely full. The entire vent cap can be removed for quick filling, but some fuel loss may occur. 20-0497-01 QUICK FILL DUMP CAN, 8 GALLON, 1.5IN DRY BREAK This option is compatible with Radium Engineering 1.5" female dry breaks (remote and direct fillers). It features a 45 degree coupler with stainless steel hose clamps that secure the 1.5" male probe dry break. NOTES: To install the included coupler, a cutting tool such as a sharp hacksaw is required. Carefully make a clean cut just above the beaded area of the 2.25" OD section. For maximum flow efficiency, the fuel tank (or fuel cell) should have a large vent (see Radium P/Ns: 20-0462 and 20-0535).
